Want

Do you
Really
Want to
Meet me?

Then you
Need to
Talk to my
Walkie-Talkie
Diary, my
Calendar Girl
My Secretary

Who's She?

My wife
Sweetie
:-)

(Wrote this poem today when one of my hubby's friends called up to arrange a meeting / rendezvous and my hubby passed on the task to me as he had no clue when he would be free ;-) He remains ever so busy with his office tasks that all his home schedules, invitations and appointments are arranged by me :-) Sweetie is what he calls me.

His Face

He has
A very
Serene
Face

Whenever
I get restless
I see his face

Relaxation
Sets in....
And I thank
His face

New

The students
Are saying
Hello :-)
To each other
So are the
Parents

It's a new
School :-)
For all of us

So we are
Getting
Acquainted
With each other

(Wrote this after attending my daughter's Induction Day. She'll be going to Secondary school this year.)

Mother Nature

The beauty
Of Mother
Nature is
For us
To see

But I'm
Wondering
About the
Dead and
Departed

Are they also
Able to see
And savour
Her pristine
Beauty?

(Theme could also be Introspection / Observation; thought about those people who've left the earth for their heavenly abode; are they still able to enjoy the bounties of the earth from someplace else, invisible to our naked eyes?)

She

She stands
Out as a
Cut above
The rest
As she is
The very
Best of the
Best

Here's another one:

To stand out
From the rest
You have to be
Better than the
Best

(Theme could be Perception / Appreciation / Motivation / Inspiration and Success)

Subtle

Those
Subtle
Feelings
That
Man
Gives me...
Makes me
Think that
He fancies
Me :-)

Never

Never
Take
Life
For
Granted

What
Will you
Do if
Life
Starts
Taking you
For granted?

Dr. Omi

Dr. Omi
Has died

The doctor
Became the
Patient himself
When God said
You can't cure
Yourself

(Wrote this after reading the tragic news that Sanjit Bedi known to all of us as Dr. Omi of Sanjeevani has died. He was in his late 30s.)

Did You Know?

Did you know she used to drape a saree over her shirt and trousers and read the news on TV?

Well, I didn't.

Did you know she was a very sportive person and so plunged into depression when she couldn't play any sports because of her illness?

That is when her sister encouraged her to become a TV Presenter.

Also, did you know that she cried a lot after doing the Aaj Rapat Jaayen song with Amitabh Bachchan because she was not comfortable dancing in a saree?

Amitabh Bachchan consoled her a lot to make her feel better.

Intriguing facts like these you'll find in the Video Biography at the end of this playlist I've made on Smita Patil - a very promising actress who died at the young age of 31.

And now let me end this Blog with some Quotes for you:

Tomorrow is the first day of the rest of your life. - Anon

People who love only once in their lives are....shallow people. What they call their loyalty, and their fidelity, I call either the lethargy of custom or their lack of imagination. - Oscar Wilde

To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything, and your heart will certainly be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact, you must give your heart to no one, not even to an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements; lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket- safe, dark, motionless, airless--it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable. - C.S. Lewis

You know that when I hate you, it is because I love you to a point of passion that unhinges my soul. - Julie de Lespinasse

Instead of putting others in their place, put yourself in their place. - Anon

Have you ever been in love? Horrible isn't it? It makes you so vulnerable. It opens your chest and it opens up your heart and it means that someone can get inside you and mess you up. You build up all these defenses, you build up a whole suit of armor, so that nothing can hurt you, then one stupid person, no different from any other stupid person, wanders into your stupid life...You give them a piece of you. They didn't ask for it. They did something dumb one day, like kiss you or smile at you, and then your life isn't your own anymore. Love takes hostages. It gets inside you. It eats you out and leaves you crying in the darkness, so simple a phrase like 'maybe we should be just friends' turns into a glass splinter working its way into your heart. It hurts. Not just in the imagination. Not just in the mind. It's a soul-hurt, a real gets-inside-you-and-rips-you-apart pain. I hate love. - Neil Gaiman

It is with words as with sunbeams - the more they are condensed, the deeper they burn. - Robert Southey

It is twice the pleasure to deceive the deceiver. - Jean De La Fontaine

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. - Martin Luther King Jr.

A flower blossoms where there is love, not where there is apathy. - Aparna Chatterjee

Interesting

Some
People
Find life
Interesting

Some
People
Make life
Interesting

And some
People....
Look at life
And ask:

What's so
Interesting?!

(Theme could be Attitude / Perception)

Nowadays

Nowadays
I don't go
To see
His photo
As everywhere
Before my eyes
Floats his photo

Good

He said:

You don't
Need a
PhD
To write
Good
Poetry

You just
Have to
Feel me
To write
Good poetry

:-)

My

My bedroom
Is the cosiest
Place on earth

The sun
Comes in
And it feels
Like heaven
On earth :-)

Twin

He seems
To me my
Twin soul
As we strive
Towards the
Same goal
:-)

One

He loves me
In one piece

What if I
Fall into
Pieces?!

Maybe,
Then also
He'll love me
In every piece
:-)

(dedicated to my hubby)

Every

Every moment
Of every day...
I think of you
Yet my thoughts
Never seem to
Get enough
Of you...

One

There is
One girl
Who could
Stay with you
All day, all night
If only you could
Let her be with you
All day, all night

You

You
Write to
Those who
Read you
Not to
Those who
Don't need
You

Such

Such is his
Destiny....
That in this
Life, he would
Never know
That he
Belongs to me

And in the
Life after..?

Possibly,
It could be the
Same old story

And in the life
After next life?

Well, it all depends
On what sort of ending
You want for our
Love Story..?

Happiness or
Misery....?!

Some

Some

Stories
Don't make
It to the
News
Headlines

You need to
Read those
In between
The lines...

All His

All his
Theories
About my
Behaviour
Are going
Wrong...!

He thought
He understood
Me.

His understanding
Was so wrong...!

Choose

Time

To buy
Some
Earrings
Again

Hence
Missing
Baba
Again

He would
Carefully
Go thru
All the
Earrings
I would try
And then
Choose
For me
The ones
I would
Buy

(Theme: Choice)

Second

Tired and
Hungry
He comes
Back home
From his
Office that
Is his
Second
Home

(our men spend so much of time away from home in their office that it seems to be their second home)

Review

Some
People
Review
Your
Work
As if
They are
Putting their
Likes on Facebook

No matter
Whatever
The content
They seem to
Like it on Facebook

Unwritten

That
Unwritten
Poem of
Mine that
Will die
With me
Will revive
In your mind
When you'll
Live with me

Those

Those
Belongings
That belonged
To him...
Make me
Feel that I
Still belong
To him...

Vivid

That vivid
Dream of
Me being
In Kolkata
And gazing
At the Ganges

Made me realise
That a part of me
Still belongs to the
Ganges

Find

People
Are
Visiting
Various
Places
To find
Peace

I just
Want to
Live in your
Heart to
Find peace

Her

Her
Photo
Full of
Pain...
Made me
Realise
There were
Lots of
Droughts
In her life
Not much
Rain...

Muted

Separated
Widowed
Divorced
Women
With their
Muted
Sex drives

Where do they
Go to satiate
Their drives?

Or do they remain
Frustrated with their
Frustrating sex drives

For the sake of
Sticking to the label
Of propriety in this
Primitive, puritanical
Society

(pertaining to some sections of our Asian society that abound with hypocrisy and double standards)

Nobody

When
There's
Nobody
To talk to
Even the
Postman
Would do

(wrote this after seeing an elderly neighbour who lives on his own and looks out for people to have a chat)

Height

Height of
Sycophancy?

Don't need to
Go to Indian
Offices....

In Facebook,
You can see
;-)

Themes could be Flattery / Buttering / Toadyism / Flummery / Puffery

Gone

Gone are the
Days when
The wife...
Would just
Deck up
For her
Hubby to
Enjoy :-)

Thanks to
Social media
Now she
Decks up
For the whole
World to
Enjoy :-)

Survivor

Sometimes
I feel, I'm the
Only one
Fighting for
Life
The rest have
All given up
On life

Theme: Survival

(wrote these lines thinking about the sailor in this scene)

Blame

Nothing
Goes your
Way

Blame it
On God

As if
All your
Problems
Have been
Created
By God
And will be
Sorted by
God

I Feel

I feel your
Embrace ~
All over me

Death,
You've
Finally
Come to
Rescue
Me ~

Never

You'll never
Know who
Am I when
I write....

I may be
He, she
You or me
When I write

(Theme: Role-Playing, pertaining to many of my poems)

Keep moving
Only to
See you

(Theme could be Desire / Longing / Yearning)

Gadgets
And
Gizmos
Occupy
Us in this
World

Don't know
What occupies
Them in the
Other world

(here 'them' refers to the dead and the departed)

So many
Instances
Telling me
I'm not well

I've finally
Accepted
The fact
That I'm
Not well

Let's
Pick up
The pieces
From where
You left me
And then
Piece it all
Together
How you
Left me

(Theme: Retrospection)

Saddest

The saddest
Part of our
Relationship
Is:
I can never
Wish him
Well
For he
Made me
Feel so
Unwell.

Your

Your memory
Is like the
Plop of a
Bird's pooh
On my
Window
When I'm
Looking
Through

(Theme could be Interruption / Disruption / Distraction caused by some sordid memory)

Restless

When you
Get restless
You'll come
Back to me
As you know
Here is where
Peace will be

Slowly

Slowly,
Slowly
It will
Heal
My
Friend

By the
Time, you
Die, it will
Seal, my
Friend

I fancy none
But you,
As if I was
Born to be
With you,
And only
You....

Romancing
In the car

When it
Comes to

Day by day
I'm growing
Weaker....
And slowly
Realising
The value
Of what it
Means to
Remain
Stronger

(Theme: Health)

That

That clinging
Feeling of
Sickness
Is there
With you,
When you
Know -
You are
Not well
But keep
Saying...
All's well
Lest hearing
About your
Sickness...
Others start
Feeling unwell

I See

I see
No
Spiritual
Healer
Touching me
And saying:
I'm healing
Your pain
Now you
Can start
Your life
All over
Again...

(Theme could be Renewal / Rejuvenation / Resurrection)

No More

No more
Health
Visitors
Needed
In that
House
As no
More lives
Live in that
House

(wrote this after seeing the house of an elderly couple who've died; here in UK, the NHS sends health visitors to the homes of the sick and elderly to see how they're doing...)

Gift

Gift a
Bouquet of
Beautiful
Memories
To your
Children
'Cause
That is
What will
Live with them
When you are
No longer
With them

(Theme: Legacy)

If You

If you
Don't
Have
The time
To talk
To your
Children

All sorts
Of strangers
Will talk to
Your children

And then
You'll never
Know how
You'll lose
Your children

So please
Make some time
To talk to your children

(addressed to all busy parents)

Grateful

The more I
Think of him
The more I
Feel grateful
To him....
For giving us
This life that
We all owe
To him :-)

(dedicated to my husband who's also a loving father to his children)

Confidence

That
Confidence
To say to
My children
That you'll
Like it
The way
I'll make it
Boosts my
Confidence
That I can
Make it

(refers to how I make food for them)

You

You would
Go away
From me
And come
Back to me

Such is the
Power of
Attraction

You won't be
Able to live
Without me

I Like

I like men

With a
Sense of
Humour
As humour
Helps to
Bring us
Closer ;-)

Some

Some people
Have nothing
To do, so they
Write poetry
For me and
You :-)

LOL :D

Theme could be Humour

Another version could be

Some people
Have nothing
To do, so they
Write poetry
Like me and
You ;-)

Happy choosing the version that you can relate to....

Rendezvous

It seems
In the most
Unlikely of
Places, I'll
Meet you

At the
Gates of
Heaven and
Hell, I'll meet
You

Happiest

I'm the
Happiest
When I
Write :-)

Keeps all
Those worries
Out of sight

Where
I'm going

Nowadays

Nowadays
I'm talking
Sweetly...
All the time

Why?

'Cause
I'm having
Jalebis :-)
All the time
:D

Theme: Humour

BTW, I love Jalebis :-) though I try limiting myself having them lest I get Diabetes ;-)

Some Stories and Some Quotes

If you want to read some nice, soul-stirring, heart-breaking, heart-rending, tear-jerking, awe-inspiring, encouraging, funny, witty and humorous real-life stories of success and failure such as Don't Wait, God's Wounds, Connecting, Grief Walking, Choice, April Showers, The Cure, Lessons Learned, Summer in Sweden, Happy Birthday, Taking Risks, Celebration of Hope, Breaking Barriers - you need to buy this book on BC which has a compilation of more than 50 such intriguing stories of men and women grappling with BC.

Now, what is BC? Not only women can have it, men can also get it.

Well, BC is the abbreviation I would rather choose to use for the dreaded disease - Breast Cancer.

This book also elucidates the signs, symptoms, causes, therapies and prognosis for BC.

As they say, charity begins at home. Hence, if any of your loved ones are afflicted with BC, you can use this guide to help them cope with this debilitating illness.

By procuring this book, you'll also be helping the Healing Project which is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting the health and welfare of people struggling with chronic and life-threatening illnesses as all the proceeds from the sale of this book will be donated to them.

I bought this book from Amazon

It is also available in the Book Depository which gives free worldwide delivery.

Be courageous, treat women with respect. - Sotonye Anga

In life, you need either inspiration or desperation. - Anthony Robbins

What Women Want: To be loved, to be listened to, to be desired, to be respected, to be needed, to be trusted, and sometimes, just to be held. What Men Want: Tickets for the World Series. - Dave Barry

When women are depressed, they eat or go shopping. Men invade another country. It's a whole different way of thinking. - Elayne Boosler

The way to love anything is to realize that it might be lost. - G. K. Chesterton

Three passions, simple but overwhelmingly strong, have governed my life: the longing for love, the search for knowledge, and unbearable pity for the suffering of mankind. - Bertrand Russell

If you live to be a hundred, I want to live to be a hundred minus one day so I never have to live without you. - A. A. Milne

At fifteen, life had taught me undeniably that surrender, in its place, was as honorable as resistance, especially if one had no choice. - Maya Angelou

I Like Him

I like him
Because
Of what
He achieves

Showing us
The world,
While
Globe-trotting
And travelling
To its remotest
Areas, risking his
Life to be with
Drug-lords and
Thieves, to give us
All those fascinating
Facts that he receives

He even explores all the hidden
Wonders of the world,
Taking us to exquisite places
Of amazing beauty....
As if doing such intriguing
Travel documentaries
Seems to be his social duty

Well, if it's all hard for you to believe
You can read all about Simon Reeve

(I love watching his travel shows)

Beautiful

It was a
Beautiful
Night

There was
No street
Light

I bathed
Myself
In the
Beautiful
Moonlight

(wrote this remembering a night when there was no street light to blight out the moonlight)

Great

The great
Outdoors
Are beckoning
Me, saying to
Me ~
Come and
Mingle ~
With the
Sun and
The sea
'Cause
That is
Where
You'll
Eventually
Be....

(here the words "eventually be" imply that we all merge with nature after we die)
