He

He died
Last year

She died
This year

I wonder,
Whose
Turn
Would it be
Next year...
The following
Year, and
So on and
So forth....
Year after
Year....

Theme could be Death / Continuity / Cycle or Thirst (the never-ending thirst that death has for life)

Wrote this today after seeing the funeral of our neighbour.

Tired

Tired souls
Travelling
Around....
To get some
Repose....
In this world's
Merry-go-round

Theme could be Travel / Tourism / Vacation / Relaxation / Requiescence

People jet away to exotic places to calm their frayed nerves from hectic work lives.

Open

Open
Pyres
Smelling
Of death

Mother
Earth
Must be
Feasting
On death

(dedicated to the victims of Nepal's earthquake)

Meditating

Let the murders
Continue
And the tortures
Too

How does it
Matter to
Me and you?

Let us
Not focus
On the
Miseries
Of the
World

Let us
Just
Meditate
And
Enlighten
Our world

(Theme: Self-Centeredness)

Sampling

Would you
Like to
Enjoy
Some
Senryu?

How about
Sampling
The ones
By our
Seshu?

I like his
Sense of
Humour

Hope you
Would like
It too :-)

(dedicated to our Seshu Ji - not only his humorous ones, I also like his nostalgic ones and the ones that he writes showcasing life's idiosyncrasies ;-)

He

He's a man
Who minces
No words when
He writes....

No wonder,
His blog
Bites ;-)

This is about Dr. R.K. Singh's blog. I like his writing. It grasps and captivates you. In a few words, he says so much....with so much power and potency!!!

The only change I would suggest is whenever a reader clicks on a poem of his, it leads to his profile info and then the poem below; clicking the poem should directly lead to it rather than the reader scrolling down to read the poem. I wish him many more years of creative writing :-)

Unke Dekhe Se...

The other day, when I read Kulbir Ji's poem, his lines reminded me of Ghalib's lines.

http://www.boloji.com/index.cfm?md=Content&sd=Poem&PoemID=21545

Unke Dekhe Se
Jo Aa Jaati Hai
Munh Par Raunaq
Woh Samajhte Hain Ke
Beemar Ka Haal
Achha Hai ;-)

I've enjoyed this song many times in Jagjit-Chitra's superb album on Ghalib.

Hence, I went googling to see if there are any newer versions available and I came across this superb singer - Sudhir Narain

With just a harmonium and no other accompanying musical instrument, no voice-mixing facilities (that are usually there in recording studios), he sang this song so very beautifully....

He's got a great voice. I wish he makes his name in Bollywood and sings some mellifluous songs to enthrall the masses.

Talking of film songs, amidst the recent releases....I've really liked 3 songs very much. Nice lyrics, nice music :-)

Most people do not listen with the intent to understand; they listen with the intent to reply. - Stephen R. Covey

Silence is the continuation of what was not said. - Jan Oscar Hansen

After a break-up, people always claim that things will get better, and in fact they do....but not because we in fact ARE better but that the pain has beaten every last ounce of feeling from us, after we are wasted away, because food and drink seem to be like sand being choked down, and sleep is no comfort because you know you'll dream of them, and have to wake up with knowing that they'll not be there; after all this is accepted, we are what people claim is "better". - Gabriel Swann

Slavery was never abolished. Why? Because you are still a slave to the biased opinions of a person whom you know not. You claim otherwise, yet your clothes are of a trend, your speech of what's acceptable in a society of ignorance. You have choice yet you do not exercise its freedom, because you are a slave to the ways of the world. - Auliq Ice

My most brilliant achievement was my ability to be able to persuade my wife to marry me. - Winston Churchill

I am so clever that sometimes I don't understand a single word of what I am saying. - Oscar Wilde

When negative feelings are suppressed positive feelings become suppressed as well, and love dies. - John Gray

A human being who trades away individuality for conformity is nothing but a slave. - Auliq Ice

Love is rare, life is strange, nothing lasts and people change. - Athena Orchard

There's things that happen in a person's life that are so scorched in the memory and burned into the heart that there's no forgetting them. - John Boyne

The best way to predict the future is to invent it. - Alan Kay

To handle yourself, use your head; to handle others, use your heart. - Eleanor Roosevelt

Relationships are not measured in time but in lessons learned. - Dr. Brian Weiss

The tragedy of life is what dies inside a man while he lives. - Albert Einstein

I am prepared to meet my Maker. Whether my Maker is prepared for the great ordeal of meeting me is another matter. - Winston Churchill
