A pan full of
Cooked food
A plate full of
Plain rice.
I asked him
About the
Delicious dish
He had made -
Scrambled eggs
With fried onions,
Potatoes, peas and
Tomatoes.
Why he didn't mix it
With the rice?
Why he's having
Plain rice?
My son who's a good cook
And loves cooking, said:
Ma, I've had enough of eggs.
I just want to have some
Plain rice.
I smiled thinking,
He's gone on me.
When I was in my twenties,
I used to love cooking, making
Various dishes, experimenting.
Now, just like me,
He's also taken a liking to
Plain rice with no add-ons.
Over the years,
I've observed
That in many
Ways, my son
Is like me,
Lives simply....
Loves simplicity.
Though our zodiacs
Are different, he's an
Aquarian, I'm a Libran
But we both are
Air Signs, seeking
Peace, beauty,
Harmony, aesthetics
And creativity.
