Red

You may
Think it is
Red wine
The drink
That I have
When I dine
But it's not
My dear....

It is
Beetroot
Juice
Which is
As hearty
And healthy
As carrot juice

Both these
Drinks make
Me feel fine and
So I have them
When I lunch and
Dine....

They can be
Had on their own
Or if you like
You can mix
The juices of
Beetroot and carrot
And that will also
Give you a nice,
Nutritious drink....

So you may try yours
As I have tried mine :)
And see if you like this
Drink divine with its
Natural colours of
Orange and red....
Carrot is orange
Beetroot is red....

Vitamins and minerals
Going in those guzzles
Nutrients nourishing
You, as you take those
Swigs....making you
Alert and active to play
In life's gigs and jigs :-)

(wrote this poesy after my son surprisingly asked me if I was having red wine as he knows I don't take alcohol and I said No, it was beetroot juice. He got confused by its deep red colour which looked like wine)

Soul

When
Your
Soul
Gets
Killed
You
Don't
Feel
Alive

In this
World
Of
Make-Believe
Where
People
Contrive
And then
Deprive
You
Struggle
To
Survive
No matter
How much
You strive

With no
Hope to
Revive
You lose
Your drive
And keep off
The hive --
And let them
Jive, lest they
Connive with
Their convive

In despair
You dive
And make
Way for
Others
To thrive

Then after
Your death
You are
Somehow
Kept alive
As your life
Is chosen by

Close

As the day
Draws to a close
I realise....
My thoughts about you
Are always open, they
Never close

No wonder,
I always find you
So close....
This closeness
Makes me happy
Whenever I'm
Morose

If you are
The thorn
I'm the rose
Protecting me
By staying close

As long as I live
You'll be always
With me for all
The shows, this
World knows....

For if you are
My poetry, I'm
Your prose....
In our thoughts
And feelings, in
Our highs and lows

Amongst the many
You I chose, for in
You I find my love
And repose, when
In your arms, me
You enclose, I feel
Safe from life's throes

Politics

What does
A terminally
Ill patient
Make of
Brexit
When
He's
Planning
To make
His final
Exit?

How does
Brexit matter
To him when
It's no longer
Relevant to
Him?

Brexit
Happens or not
He has to go,
For him
Time will not
Slow....

Sports
Politics
News and
Views....
They don't
Matter much

What matters to
Him the most -
How death will
Take him - will
It be a groping
Hand or a
Gentle touch?

G+ is going away on 2nd April, 2019

Today I received an email regarding this news and it did make me feel sad as I'll be missing G+

I used it regularly because its Feeds helped me to update my Blog.

https://plusfeed.frosas.net/117466581567846877904

If you scroll down this page, you'll see G+ RSS and if you look above, it is also one of my pages on top of my Blog.

Anyway, all good things come to an end.

Perhaps Google knows there are not many users of G+ and so it is shutting it down.

I'll miss G+ and will always cherish the nice memories of reading, writing and sharing it gave me :-)

I still love Google. Hope it comes up with something new. I admire its creativity. Kudos to its team.

So those of you who are still hanging on to G+ like me, please remember to save your photos and files before they get discarded by Google.

Regards
Aparna

Poesy

Thought of
Dedicating
A poesy to
You....

You are so
Sweet, how
Could I not
Write about
You....

You are the
Sweetest
Mother-in-law
On Earth

Often I wish
You were my
Mother who
Brought me
To this earth

Seeing your
Love for your
Son and daughter
Inspires me....

The immense
Patience and
Tolerance you
Have in loving
Them, impresses
Me....

You are such a
Simple lady, albeit
A bit superstitious
And somewhat
Orthodox, but very
Religious....

Your unshakable faith
In God, amazes me....

Now that you are
Old and infirm, it
Worries me, for I
Love having you
In my life, you are
The 'Ma' I would
Always want to
Have with me....
