Longest

When you are
Out of the house
For a long, long time

I feel as if
I've been
Enduring
The longest
Day of my
Life for a
Long, long time

As it seems, time
Has been standing
Still for a long, long time
And I keep looking for you
Longingly, for a long, long time

June 21st is Summer Solstice - the longest day of the year

A Home

A home
Away from
Home

A mini home

A car
Warm
And
Cosy

She
Makes us
Feel at home

(dedicated to our Viano)

Born Again

He may be
Born again
I guess

He never
Had a father
All his life

So he may
Look forward
To being born
Again and having
A father in his next
Life

(Theme could be Rebirth / Yearning)

Smokes

Father smokes
Mother smokes
Son smokes

I see
The whole
Family
Going up in
Smokes

(written about a family where all the 3 members smoke and I really feel concerned about their smoking habit damaging their health)

Public Toilets

How
Good
Or Bad
You feel
Cleaning
Your own
Toilets

Give
A
Thought
To those
Who clean
Your public
Toilets

(I'm always touched by those people who work rigorously to clean the public toilets in restaurants, shopping malls, stations and airports here in the UK. I wonder how they eat their food after cleaning toilets all day....though I know this job puts the food on their plate or else they'll go hungry as this may be the only means of income they might be having....Hats off to them for their hard work, endurance and resilience.)

What If...

What if
I'm here

What if
I'm not
Here..?

Would it
Make a
Difference
To the
Humongous
Hemisphere?

(Themes could be Identity, Miniscule, Non-Entity, Zilch or Nullity)

Flying

Flying
Through
The Air
I savour
Many
Sights

Do I really
Need a
Body to
Enjoy such
Heights...??

(Theme: Soul)

So Many

So many hearts
Breaking in his
World and yet
God remains
Ever so silent
As if all remains
Well in his world

(This poem is written in memory of the recent Malaysian airliner disaster and the Turkish miners' tragedy - dedicated to the friends and families of all those hapless victims who must have endured a lot of heartache because of these mishaps. This poem also remembers all those countless others in this world who are going through similar personal losses....for instance, those mothers and daughters caught up in the frenzy of the Boko Haram abduction case.)
